2019 Rotary Run for Rwanda

Thanks to all of the runners and walkers who participated in the August 24th Rotary Run for Rwanda. The event was a resounding success for the ninth year in a row!
Nearly 50 kids did the 9-and-under run. Participants of the 5K run/walk and 10K run varied from 9 years old to 84! The kids really enjoyed their 1.5K run and everyone else ran or walked their hearts out on the beautiful trails of Bowen Island.
The event raised good funds for Komera Canada, which was the whole point of the exercise! The organizers love the fact that there is always a great mix of Bowen Islanders and visitors from the mainland.
Without the support of our Rotary volunteers and other friends, many of whom return to help out year after year, we would be lost, so we are deeply grateful to all of them.

Kids’ Run: First boy: Finlay Boggan; First girl: Avery Hilliard
5K run Female: First: Rebecca Johnstone, Second: Holly Kasasian; Third: Rebecca Welsh
5K run Male: First: Oscar Ryan; Second: Johannes Heinemann; Third: Frances Lynn
5K 10 to 14 years: Female: Ariana Lunn; Male: Ryland Bentall
10K run Female: First: Meredith McGregor; Second: Kira Jackson; Third: Kim Hall
10K Men: First: Colin Kerr; Second: Jeremy Rochussen; Third: Aaron Andersen
