The Rotary Club of Bowen Island membership meeting of June 11, 2020, was held online. The featured speaker was Chris Offer presenting the story of Rotary International’s Peace Initiatives.

The illustrated talk by Chris discussed Rotary Peace Centers and Rotary’s partnership with the Institute for Economics and Peace.

Chris Offer is a long-time friend of Bowen Rotary — he participated at the celebration of the charter of this club. He is a member of the Rotary Peace Centers Committee of The Rotary Foundation and he chairs the Rotary Peace Major Gifts Initiatives Committee.  In his words, “These are exciting times for Rotary’s peace programs. A new peace center in Uganda will welcome its first class in 2021. Globally Rotary clubs are engaging in more positive peace projects.”
