The main event of the Bowen Rotary meeting of July 30 was guest speaker, Brian Thomas-Peter describing his research for, and the writing of his new book, The Kissing Fence.

The meeting was held online, and the recording is available for viewing. The members enjoyed this detailed and personal account by a working author. During the informal conversation before the meeting actually started, Brian spoke about his personal process that he uses for writing novels. This is added as a special episode at the end of the video.

The Kissing Fence is a novel that revolves around the tragic history of the Doukhobours who settled in eastern British Columbia. The scope of the tale encompasses the raids by the RCMP in the 50s to events in modern West Vancouver.
