Rotary Run for Rwanda — Support Komera

This year, sometime between August 22nd and 29th you may participate by running or walking wherever you like, either 10K, 5K (or 1.5K if you are 9 or under).

Second: This program is in support of Komera Canada, a registered Canadian charity that supports young women in rural Rwanda as they attend secondary school and University. Komera is now an international organization that was founded by Bowen Islander, Margaret Butler. Margaret was our special guest speaker for the RCBI meeting on August 13. Here is the complete video of that meeting.

Third: Margaret Butler provided The Rotary Club of Bowen Island a report of Komera back in August of 2012. This was the second year that Bowen Rotary managed the Run for Rwanda. The audio of that seminal event was recorded. Listen as Margaret is introduced by Piers Hayes.
